The mission of TUAC is, "to enrich the lives of all citizens by providing the highest quality arts programming possible." Towards that end, the Thomaston-Upson Arts Council:
1. Emphasizes the performing arts series and the arts-for-children program;
2. Provides opportunities and services to local artists and arts organizations; and
3. Pursues inclusion of the arts as integral in basic education.
Arts and culture are valued in our community, in our schools, and for enrichment of our citizens. Under the guidance of its Board of Directors and led by Executive Director Carmen Ellerbee, the Thomaston-Upson Arts Council (TUAC) works both in the community and within the school system to promote the arts and cultural activities.
TUAC has brought quality cultural events to the citizens of Upson County for 20 years - events ranging from celebrated classical musicians and dancers to gallery showings featuring local artists.
TUAC draws its strength as a Community-based organization which receives support from the City of Thomaston; Upson County; individual, family, and business memberships and donations; Corporate Sponsors, and the Georgia Council for the Arts.
TUAC would like to thank the many supporters over the years and looks forward to many more years of bringing the Arts to Thomaston and Upson County.
